Need assistance with custom db integration syntax

Trying to pull my user/password login information from a very simple database, and have searched high and low here on the forums and documentation and google as to how exactly to set up my config file to get it working. I can log in using the admin info I entered during setup but it’s not referencing anything else.

Found one little thing with the providers that I had skewed, but nonetheless it still won’t work for me. Surely someone must be doing some form of custom db user auth that is using md5 passwords in a non-ldap setting??
