NEOS CLient

Now I have the Jive Server up and running. I can connect to the jive server with Exodus.

I am getting an error when connecting to the jive server when using NEOS. I will give the error below.

I can use NEOS to connect to another Jabber server, not a jive jabber server, but it is a jabber server.

Here is the error log from Jive:

2004.12.22 13:32:13 org.jivesoftware.messenger.spi.IQRouterImpl.handle(IQRouterImpl.java:151) Could not route packet

java.lang.NullPointerException

at org.jivesoftware.messenger.spi.IQRouterImpl.handle(IQRouterImpl.java:93)

at org.jivesoftware.messenger.spi.IQRouterImpl.route(IQRouterImpl.java:56)

at org.jivesoftware.messenger.spi.PacketRouterImpl.route(PacketRouterImpl.java:73)

at org.jivesoftware.messenger.net.SocketReadThread.readStream(SocketReadThread.jav a:217)

at org.jivesoftware.messenger.net.SocketReadThread.run(SocketReadThread.java:101)

I can use NEOS to create an account on my jive server but when I logon and it gives an error above.

anybody have any ideas?

I need to have two jabber clients on my machine. 1 for custom work software and then another one for company chat, so if anyone has any ideas on a chat client that is win32 based that dings when I receive a message and has excellent file transfer I am all ears.

Thanks!

Randy

Here is the log from jabber console in NEOS:

Have you looked url=http://www.jabber.org/software/clients.phphere[/url]?

Hey Randy,

I think that NEOS is trying to send an IQ packet with a wrong namespace (“jabber:iq:privacy”) which uncovered an error in Messenger. I’'m now fixing the problem in Messenger so you may find a fix in the next nightly build.

Thanks,

– Gato

"There was an error with the jabber connection.

Server:servername

Error receiving from socket."

Hey,

Are you using the latest nightly build? From your stack trace I guess not. The nightly build includes a fix for this error.

Let me know if that helps.
