Offline and Authorization problem

I am having the same problems whether I use PSI or Gaim. I can register accounts with the server but when I add a contact to my list they either show up offline or not authorized. When I send an authorization (PSI) I get nothing on the other end even in the Gaim debug window nothing happens on the recieving side.

When I add a contact I have tried both the name and the name@servername suggested in another thread. When using the server name I used the servers IP address (don’'t know if this could cause a problem).

Any help would be appreciated.

I am using Gaim 1.5.0 and Jive Messenger 2.2.2.

if the server’‘s server name is the IP address then that would be correct thing to do. If you don’'t know your server name you can get it from the “Server Settings” page in the admin console under the heading server properties you will see “Server Name”. You need to add the contact name@servername for the contact to appear in your roster correctly.
