Offline message

Is it possible for Openfire to send offline messages to the user once he/she accessible. Or do i need to write a presence callback, retrieve the database, grab the offline messages from the ofoffline table and send the messages to the user?

Hi Hao Liu,

If I am not completely remembering wrong and having some rotten brain day, the default behaviour of Openfire is to send offline messages to a user when user becomes available.

The short answer is yes and it is configurable. In the openfire admin website goto Server settings then Offline messages:

Spark will automatically poll for any offline messages at connect. If you are creating/using a different client that would be a question for that developer. Gateway chats may be different. I do get my Yahoo messages when I login, but Yahoo supports offline messages. The other services may not.

Lucky for Yahoo Messengers’ users, as far as i know, gtalk doesn;t support offline messages.
