A user is showing as offline to other users in Spark but said users status is set to “Online”
Removed users Spark and installed an older version and user is still showing as offline in Spark.
Please provide more information on how your user roster is setup. Do you use group sharing in Openfire that automatically provides all users with groups and users in their client? If os, then maybe this one user is not part of such group. If you don’t use automatic sharing, then maybe those who see user offline can try removing this contact and try readding them and then make sure they confirm such subscription. You can also try Subcription plugin which makes it so such requests to add contact automatically approves subscription and no need for manual approval from the user.
Multiple people have reported this, since Openfire version 4.8. A bug has been reported in our issue tracker as OF-2820.
We have not been able to find the cause of this yet. More details are very welcome.
