A user appears offline although he is online. When i send him a message, it pops up ok on his side, but i get an offline warning before sending.
After i logged off and on again, he appeared online.
Whats the cause?

it’s hard to tell the cause but either Openfire did not send the presence packet to your client or your client did ignore it. As long as you don’t run Openfire with audit log enabled or your client with the XMPP debugger enabled (must be activated before login) one will not know this.
Are you using shared groups?
Is the user in two groups?
