Is there a particular reason (and please, forgive me if I just haven’‘t come across where) the source for the IM plugin isn’‘t available - even in it’'s beta form?
It strikes me as the ideal type of project that could be achieved quicker with a more distributed approach.
After all - this is all being conversed about on jivesoftware.org.
Or have I missed the point?

Well, perhaps it’'s not really obvious. The source code of wildfire + gateway is available via Subversion:
svn co http://svn.jivesoftware.org/svn/repos/wildfire/trunk wildfire
The IM plugin is in src/plugins/gateway of the trunk. Pls send patches (if any) to jadestorm.
