SQL Server 2008 on a separate Windows Server 2008 (non-R2) 64bit server

When I start Openfire it gets to the point where it’s listening at: then shows the admin console URLs on ports 9090 and 9091. It never gets past that point.

During the initial setup everything worked fine, I ran through the setup with no problems. I started Openfire after the setup and everything was good. I stopped Openfire and logged off the server to do other things, came back later logged in the server and now can’t start Openfire.

The error.log is blank. I can access the admin console page but cannot authenticate. My Openfire server can ping my SQL server fine and I can login to SQL as the Database user so connectivity between the 2 servers is good.

Any ideas?

Did the databases on your sql server populate correctly? I ran into a strange problem with sql 2008, although I don’t remember the details or what I did to correct it.

How can I tell if the DB populated correctly?

Tell me if this makes sense… I stopped openfire, went into the conf file and changed the max connextions to 500, saved and reopened openfire and it worked.

Any idea whay that would be?
