users→anyuser→usergroups→remove usergroup (red x).. results in blank screen and usergroup is not deleted. tried in both firefox and edge with multiple user accounts.. same result.

If I remember correctly, this is fixed. Can you try a nightly build?
you mean it exists in 5.0.4 but will be fixed in the next release? if so, I can certainly wait it out (I think).
