After the Openfire upgrade from 4.1.6 to 4.8.1 http://localhost:9090 is working but hostname/IP instead of localhost is not loading the page. Is this restricted in newer version?
I assume that you’re referring to the Admin Console. Since Openfire 4.8.0, this by default is only available on the local host, as a security precaution. This behavior can be configured during the initial setup, but also later. You can find various posts on this forum that explain how to change the behavior.
