HI,
I am trying to install Openfire 3.6.4 on my windows 7 , 64 bit machine. here are the steps i went through…
-
downloaded openfire (Without JRE) as i already have JRE6 installed on my 64-bit machine.
-
Extracted files in C:\openfire folder.
-
clicked on openfire.exe and i get following message. I have checked my JAVA_HOME environment variable has JVM installed as I am already running tomcat using that jvm.
Error message --> The JAVA_HOME enviornment variable does not point to a working JDK or JRE , when i clicked on ok it shows antoher message
The JVM found at JAVA_HOME is damaged , please reinstall or define EXE4J_JAVA_HOME to point to an installed JDK or JRE
Can any one help …i need to bring this up asap.
-
Do I need to install JRE / JDK in 32-bit environment i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)
-
Will it be a problem if I download openfire with JRE — though i have another JDK / JRE running ?
Any and ALL inputs will help…
