Openfire mysql issues

Hello all.

i am trying to install openfire 4.6.1 on a windows 2019 server.
using a mysql server namely: MariaDB 10.1.47
now I get stuck during the configuration on creating the admin account.
always get the message that the wagon word is not correct.
I’ve tried to manually import openfire_mysql.sql via phpmyadmin.
later there I get the error:

Kun je me vertellen hoe je de (lege) database hebt gemaakt, waarin je de tabellen wil zetten? Ik vermoed een probleem met een CHARSET of iets dergelijks.

nu waren er op de server waarop mysql ook draaide al een paar andere dingen niet goed.
daarom ben ik even op nieuw begonnen.
dit betekend ook dat de mysql server opnieuw geïnstalleerd word.wel blijft de mysql server MariaDB 10.1.47 op debian 9
echter mogen jullie me nu zeggen welke methode de beste methode is om de mysql database aan te maken voor openfire.
en eventueel welke CHARSET ik het beste kan gebruiken.
we weten dan namelijk vrij zeker dat de mysql database namelijk goed is.

In principe zouden de defaults gewoon moeten werken. In de installatiehandleiding wordt nog een tip gegeven om niet-Westerse karakters goed weer te geven. Die configuratie-wijziging zou nog doorgevoerd kunnen worden.

het is overigens de orginele file dit bij openfire mee ge leverd word in de instalatie egter heb ik de file alleen hernoemd naar de naam van de database

De file die je stuurt lijkt niet overeen te komen met de file, zoals hij standaard bij Openfire wordt meegeleverd. Ik raad je aan om de originele file te gebruiken.

Het probleem wat je hebt ligt aan de database die je gebruikt. Die lijkt geen grote indexen toe te staan terwijl Openfire die wel wil gebruiken (zeker als je de database instelt om UTF8 karakter-sets te gebruiken).

Ik ben geen expert op dat gebied, maar vind met wat Google zoekopdrachten wel dat de limiet voor nieuwere versies van MySQL flink is opgehoogd. Je gebruikt een oude versie van MariaDB. MariaDB zelf biedt zelfs geen ondersteuning meer voor de 10.1 reeks. Ik raad je aan om te upgraden. Daarmee voorkom je hopelijk het probleem.

heel erg bedankt en ik weet dat je kan aan passen dat je grote databases wil gebruiken.
ik wist egter niet dat de database grote tabellen en zo wou.
nu ik het weet kan ik de mysql servers aan passen.
