I am very new to openfire and was put in charge of maintaining a server that was just setup and left for me to deal with. I was told that once an account was created in AD that openfire would automatically find it. but it seems to not be working. I have users that want to use this and I do not know how to give them rights to do it. also if I try to add an account it says it is locked and cannot be edited.
OK, I figured it out. I just had to do a lot more research on the issue. I even read the post http://community.igniterealtime.org/message/178864#178864 that was the solution. when I was reading it I was thinking it was talking about login names not the common name. so that was my issue.
