Openfire not responding configurations missing

We been using openfire for almost 2 weeks now without any issues but suddenly the server was not responding, no users can logon. It is installed on cPanel server, the only change I made with the server was I’'m trying to install tomcat to work with Cpanel. So I restarted openfire from commandline and try to browse the admin url http://domainname:9090 but it started with a wizard, all my previous configurations are gone and when I get to the profile settings I received this error:

HTTP ERROR: 500

I’‘ve noticed that before it is used to be jive… but now it’'s jetty, did the tomcat install messed up openfire? Is there a way to fix this?

TIA

I’'ve got the same message during migration to other server:

I’'ve backuped complete mysql, restored on new server, installed openfire, copied whole /opt/openfire/conf dir, copied /opt/openfire/resources/security dir and after starting of openfire got install wizard ending up with:

Hi, I had the same problem.

I figurate that a openfire daemon start up when I turn on the computer(Fedora C6), is that the reason that when i installed openfire i didn’'t have this problem.

So in the command line write:

#ps aux | grep openfire

see what is the PID and kill that procces.

#kill PID

then start openfire from the script:

  1. cd /opt/openfire/bin

  2. ./openfire.sh start

That is all, and it works.

Please, I’‘m newbe on linux, so if someone knows how to stop that the openfire daemon start up when the computer turn on, make me know. (sorry by my english, i’'m latinamerican).
