I have been using Openfire 3.6.0 for a couple of weeks now. I really liked the service at first but then I started having issues with names not showing up. I have tried upgrading to 3.6.0a several times but it still appears to be running 3.6.0. Now there are not any names showing up at all on anyones contact list. I don’t know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I just figured out the problem (at least for the time being). I ran across the following post because I was having the same error code: http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/message/98165
I didn’t realize that the problems were related until I realized that this was caused by another Jive instance running. I didn’t realize it but I had another Messaging server running on my machine and all my Spark messengers were connecting to that instead of the Openfire server. Once I got rid of that, everything seems to be fine.
