For those interested in running Openfire on Debian, I’ve create a step-by-step HOWTO entitled Build Your Own Openfire Chat Server on Debian Linux. The target platform is a Debian virtual machine dedicated to Openfire, with Postgresql as the database backend. This was inspired by a related “Ask Slashdot” story regarding a good, open source collaboration platform for an office of about 100 concurrent users.
