We are looking to have IM that is server-based - so that our clients don’'t have to download anything. When they login to our site, they can automaticalky have access to the IM without a download. Is that what should be able to happen with Openfire?

Also, we just need the Normal edition, not the Enterprise edition to be able to do this, right?

One last question to be clear - Openfire is the back end (Admin panel) for Spark, right?

Spark is a java based client (which needs to be installed), Openfire is the server product.

The basic product does not include a web based client, but the Enterprise version does. So, you’'ll either need the enterprise version or an alternative web based client.
