Openfire/Pade Login

We are able to login (https://openfire_domain:7443/pade) using both form of these logins (username and username@openfire_domain). My question being is there any functional difference between these two logins? Are both fully operational when using Openfire/Pade features with any other logged in user regardless of the login formats used when our users sign on?

Best Regards,
Bill

That would be Converse allowing you to use either the username or full JID. In ether case, only the username is needed for Pade as Openfire only supports a single domain.

Thank you for your clarification and prompt response. We are trying to get our Openfire server operational with Pade and the Cryptpad collaboration tools. We are having some problems with the Cryptpad part. Is there a good place to get documentation for this particular configuration? Where is the best place to find consultation should that be required?

Best Regards,
Bill

did you try the latest 0.99 pade ? it has a full support for everything and works fine on my local server with no problem.

I have installed Openfire 4.5.2 with Pade 0.9.11-SNAPSHOT. I started with 0.9.9 and I actually think it ran better but I have been trying to keep up to date as much as I can…We are also interested in using the collaboration tools (Cryptpad) but not much luck there so far. Part of the problem is a) not knowing how it is supposed to work in the first place and then my inability to find documentation on all of the proper settings. It may be I am looking in the wrong place but I definitely feel like I’m chasing my tail at this point. I finally decided to try here and see if I can at least be pointed in the right direction.

Thank you for your response. Any direction that you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Bill

I was planning on writing a quick start wiki for cryptpad, but I have been busy with paid customer work which takes priority in my list of TODO activities.

The reference place for cryptpad is https://cryptpad.fr/
There is more stuff oh their github project site at https://github.com/xwiki-labs/cryptpad

The integration with openfire meetings is to enable application sharing between a team while being able to see and talk to each at the same time. To do that, the following features are provided.

  1. Use the cryptpad icon to enter the modal dialog box that provides you with buttons to create a new type of shared application.
  2. Us the share button in the cryptpad application to copy the application URL to the clipboard. Use the share clipboard button in openfire meetings to share the URL with other participants.
  3. Shared applications will show up as new buttons in this display. Click the appropriate button to open a shared application.
  4. Use the quit button to terminate the current active shared application and use the close button the close the modal dialog box.
  5. Withe the modal dialog box closed, use the jitsi-meet title view off/on to toggle between seeing the shared application and the participants.

I have started a wiki page with this basic info. Any assistance to turn it into full documentation with user experience will be appreciated.

Any feedback or issues identified can be posted at https://github.com/igniterealtime/openfire-pade-plugin/issues and will be appreciated

Once I figure out which are problems and which are settings or server configuration issues I will be happy to post them on GitHub.
