I am a project manager for a federal agency which is looking to implement a messaging solution. I’‘ve personally been a fan of jabber/xmpp for years. I was quite dismayed when I got into this project to find a lot of custom development going on even though the SOW called for an open source solution. Anyway, I think wildfire/spark is the right way to go but we will need some custom development for some peculiar requirements we have. My preference, should I sell this idea, would be to support the wildfire/spark developers with some paid work. If they aren’‘t available I’'m open to other contributors but I need to know what kind of rates people would be looking for.

I would suggest you take a look at the service providers page and contact either (or both) Jive Software / Version 2 Software to discuss with them exactly what you’'re looking for.
