Server Broadcasts and MOTD are shown as chat’s in the normal chat. Users get confused by this, as the server messages are logged and users don’t necessarily differentiate between an old message and a new one. The chat window is also not handling the subject of the MOTD.
The following patch can be applied to the trunk rev 10983 and changes the handling of broadcasts. They will be displayed as a pop up in the task bar.
