How can I specify that a chatroom must be persistant ? Is it possible or do I have to use a bot in order to have at least one user in the chatroom at any given time ?

Ok, i found how to do it. When filling the form when you create a new chatroom, you must set the variable muc#roomconfig_persistentroom to true
