Hi yilativs,

There are no plans to open-source Spark, but we are releasing the public API and developers guide for you to write your own plugins with. There will also be a plugin install/uninstaller capabilities directly within Spark and we will also be adding plugin control / version control in the Spark Manager.

Are the API and developers guide currently part of the Spark download?

Do you know if the plugin architecture would support adding drad and drop listeners to the message text entry area?

Hi Kenneth,

The API and Developers Guide will be part of the 1.1 release, and yes, there are listeners for DND into the message areas. It is a very comprehensive API, allow for very granualar event handling (contextMenuListeners, fileTransferListeners, messageListeneres, chatRoomListeners) to the more basic UI functionallity (contactItemUI, chatRoom upper and lower toolbars, etc).
