Portuguese Translation

How can I help to add Portuguese translation for Openfire.

Download openfire_i18n_en.properties from http://fisheye.igniterealtime.org/browse/openfire/trunk/src/resources and replace English strings with portuguese (replacing native non-latin chars with unicode codes like \u1242). Then upload final file here.

Btw, there is already PT_BR translation.

I made 80% of translation, the file is here:

In the next days I hope to continue to the end.

If some one have something to translate to pt_PT I can try.

How can I test im my Openfire instalation?

Try putting it into C:\Program Files (x86)\Openfire\resources\i18n\ dir, remove one of the existing languages, rename your file after the removed one, restart Openfire and try changing the language to the one you have renamed your file to.

My Openfire is installed on Ubuntu 12.04

Home dir is /usr/share/openfire

I cant find i18n dir

Not sure about Ubuntu. On my Arch linux box it’s in /opt/openfire/resources/i18n

OK… Translation complete.

I cant test because the information you gave me to test in my openfire installation dont work.

Please add this translation to next release.

Yeah, it is harder to test the translation than i thought. Wasn’t able to compile Openfire with the new translation either. So, will leave it for someone wiser to check in. OF-682

Hmmm, the file seems to have a bunch of keys that are not left justified, perhaps that is causing the problem?

I don’t think so. I just don’t know how to compile new language in. I’ve found jsp page woth language selection, but changing it didn’t do the trick.
