I would like to configure OpenFire installation to work with my lab’s LDAP server. The LDAP server uses Kerberos for authentication. During the OpenFire setup, I managed to perform anonymous user and group lookup on LDAP, however, when I choose LDAP user to be an administrator (in the last phase of the OpenFire configuration – “Choose one or more users from your LDAP directory to be administrators by entering their usernames.”), the user authentication fails (“Status: Authentication Failed. Password is incorrect.”). The username and password that I supplied are the ones I user for authentication via Kerberos.
