Problems with Openire 3.3 and Pidgin 2.0.0 with SSL/TLS

When I have SSL/TLS available and I try to login with Pidgin 2.0.0, it opens the connection to the server and then stops. It looks like the Client and the Server might be in some sort of SSL stalemate where they are both waiting for a response/request and neither is doing anything. This problem goes away if I turn off SSL/TLS support on the server.

This is strangely reminiscent of a pandion/Wildfire problem encountered recently. Has anyone managed to get Pidgin 2.0.0 and Openfire working with TLS?

Cheers,

Roland

I have used both TLS with port 5222 and SSL with port 5223 from pidgin 2.0.1 to openfire 3.3.1 with no issues. I didn’'t do anything special.

I have tried the latest pidgin 2.0.1 with OpenFire 3.3.1 and I get the same results. Wether I use TLS or the old SSL port on 5223, it hangs on connect. Are you using Self Signed RSA certs on your OpenFire Server?
