Reinstalled openfire but now get an error that it doesnt meet server requirements

Is this a nightly build? If so, try downloading the latest proper release.

I do believe that what you encountered is a bug. I’ve attempted to create a provisional fix for it here: OF-2868: Fix setup page that checks config files by guusdk · Pull Request #2594 · igniterealtime/Openfire · GitHub

thank you yes its a bug, all I did was click the setting below and was good to go. can close this.

We’ve raised a new ticket for this problem in our bugtracker: OF-2906

It’s important enough for us to consider an immediate release of a new version of Openfire. Thanks for reporting this!

For posterity, the work-around is to clicking on the “Server Settings” menu item (which bypasses Language Selection), as shown below:
