I have downloaded both the 2.2.0 and the 2.1.5 versions and when I untar them I am not getting all the directories per the instructions. I am attempting to install on a Solaris 9 Server.
here is what I have in the jive dir after untaring:
jive_messenger:
bin
changelog.html
conf
documentation
the instructions indicate I should have:
jive_messenger:
|- readme.html
|- license.html
|- conf/
|- bin/
|- jre/
|- lib/
|- plugins/
|- admin/
|- resources/
|-database/
|-security/
|- documentation/
Any idea as to why I am not getting the required directories?
Thanks
Dallas
Hi Dallas,
It looks like the documentation is a bit out of sync with the distrobutions. Although, I just downloaded the 2.2 beta and 2.1.5 tar’‘s and I’'m seeing the following:
jive_messenger
|-bin
|-conf
|-documentation
|-lib
|-plugins
|-resources
|-changelog.html
|-LICENSE.html
|-README.html
/code
The tar’‘s don’‘t include the JRE so I’‘m not surprised that that directory is not listed, but why you’'re not the lib/plugins/etc directories is a bit strange. Are you seeing any sort of error when you untar?
Thanks,
Ryan
I just got new downloads and I am getting a check sum error with both versions.
I will down load a new tar binary and install it just in case there is a problem in the tar binary or version.
I will let you know in a few minutes
Thanks
Dallas
It was the tar binary I guess. The directories are correct now.
Sorry for bothering you.
Thanks
Dallas
No bother at all. Glad to hear things are ok.
Thanks,
Ryan
