Restricting access via Active Directory groups

I would like to only allow a specified Active Directory group to be able to connect to the server. How can I do this?

There’‘s not currently a built-in way to do this, although it wouldn’'t be a difficult customization via a plugin.

connect. I want to limit access via groups.

You can use AD groups to say to can “authenticate” or sign on. But to make a socket connection, there is no way shy of a firewall, like ISA from Microsoft or another AD group aware firewall.

If you seek to just give a message of:

Invalid username or password

when some one who is not allowed to connect, that you can do with Wildfire’'s LDAP settings.
