Hi,

I’'m thinking of setting up a jabber server and wonder what type of S2S protocol(JEP) Wildfire is using?

Will it be possible for me to communicate with other jabber servers other then Wildfire?

It is possible to connect one Jabber server to other desired Jabber server.As client can connect with a Jabber server by using port:5222,similarly you can use a port :5223 to connect with other Jabber server.And Wildfire allows to do this.Even you can connect with other server excepting Jabber(Interoprebility) Which is the main benefit of Jabber protocol that uses Xmpp for communication.
