Server 2 Server Enabled by Default

Hi,

I just completed an installation of OpenFire running on CentOS. I was looking at the logs and I noticed it is making frequent calls to other servers out on the internet specifically jabber.com and jabber.eu.

I realized this is related to the fact that “Server 2 Server” was enabled by default on installation. Since I don’t have any XMPP servers outside my organization that I want this server communicating or syncing with, is it safe to turn off this feature?

Keep in mind I am running the server with LDAP support so that my domain users can logon with their domain credentials and maintain a level of SSO.

Is “Server 2 Server” a requirement of LDAP Support? If not, why would this be turned on out of the box?

Thanks!

Anyone have some insight?

It is safe to turn Server to server off in your case.
