Hi, this is my first post. First of all I really appreciate the effort the developers do in order to continue with the project. I really like Jive and that is why I am creating this thread, because I am having really serious problems that affects mostly the whole Jabber client functionality, in a way of saying that in my case I can say my client is absolutely uninstallable because of its unoperability.
I am going to give details of my system.
I have the last version of Sun JRE by the day of today, Windows XP SP2, I have Kerio Firewall 4.1.3 installed and the program has full permition. Since I am using Pandion as a Jabber client IM and I want it to be absolutely private, I installed Jive (latest build to date, 2.13). Also, I even downloaded yesterday the latest version of the Sun JRE.
I have IE 6 and there is no patch remaining to install from WindowsUpdate, so I can positively say my system is currently up-to-date. I have Ad-Aware SE installed and ran a check yesterday and nothing was found, plus, Symantec Antivirus.
This computer seems to be running safetly, secure and clean of virus and threats.
Nevertheless, and despite of taking some time reading many threads on this forum, I get to the point of giving up and screaming for help.
The situation is the following, I am having computer A as a server, so we will call it MASTER (this is the real hostname of the computer), and for testing I installed Pandiun on workstation B, which we’'ll call SLAVE (real hostname). Both clients are 2.1.2 Beta (upgraded from 2.1.1 hoping to fix the bugs)
Following, I will be numbering each anomaly present:
Contacts doesn’'t appear online when they ARE signed in on the server (X might not reply because his/her status is unknown)
a) There are moments when a contact in MASTER can see a contact from SLAVE online but contact in SLAVE can’'t see contact from MASTER online, and viceversa. (anomaly number 2 applies here too)
In order to receive the messages, the recipient must log out and log in.
After renaming contactos and logging out, the changes are not saved at all.
Most of the time, when a user tries to log in, he has to do it twice, since the first time it would give an error saying that either the password was incorrect or the user doesn’'t exist at all (when obviously, it does)
The authorization request is send but the other user doesn’'t receive it until he/she logs out and logs in again. When the user accepts and succesfully adds the contact, this is still offline (or as most cases, it keeps saying “Awaiting authorization”
I delete contacts and after logging out and logging in, they are STILL THERE!
I would like to help you in any way to correct these bugs and support the software in any way.
Please, I really need help here, I tried EVERYTHING and nothing seems to be working out…
I read another thread on this forum from someone who was suffering from the same malfunctions but I couldn’'t use the information provided in any helpful way.
Please, help me out
