I have had one OF server (3.6.2) and it’s been good. Our server naming convention is cryptic for users which makes the JID a bit cryptic, but users haven’t cared because there’s only one server and everyone has the same extension on their JIDs (user@crypticname.domain.org). But, now we are adding another domain. I’ve built a new OF server and have been successful with s2s and search, but I don’t users will know how to search for one another on the two domains - I don’t think they can remember “crypticservername.domain.org”. Is there a way to simplify (possibly using DNS or /etc/hosts file) JID’s and searches to be easier for users, like user@simplename1 and user2@simplename2?
I don’t think dns or hosts will help in this situation (internal jabber search).
