SOLVED Bug: Cannot return to setup, "database schema does not appear to be installed"

  • With a fresh Openfire instance, visit the admin interface on port 9090.
  • Get most of the way through setup (e.g. Admin Account), picking defaults.
  • Close/reopen browser, or open the admin interface in another browser
  • Begin setup again, and progress through the steps picking defaults as before

You cannot progress past Database Settings with the default Embedded Database - an error is raised - " The Openfire database schema does not appear to be installed. Follow the installation guide to fix this error."

The installation guide doesn’t state what should happen in this instance (or indeed, explicitly state that the setup must occur in one swoop). At bare minimum, we know the error message is probably wrong :slight_smile:

Thanks, do openfire’s log/ files provide any further details on what is failing?

Ignore. I can reproduce it in 4.2.2.1, but not in 4.4.0. :+1:
