Spark 2.5.8 Beta 1 Released

Spark 2.5.8 Beta 1 is now available for download. This is mainly a bug fix release. Enjoy!

Change log can be found here.

Cheers,

Spark Team

You havent mentioned, that issue with doubling online contacts in roster are fixed in this version.

As you have added offline contacts to their groups in broadcast window i have another request:

Language selection dialog asks “Restart now?”. But it just shuts Spark down and doesnt start it again.

Avatars in roster are now bigger (24x24 max size) but i think its size should be configurable.

Has Spark been cursed by Microsoft??? Ever since 2.5.5 I have not been able to get the client to work on Vista. Has anyone?

:_|

I have 2.5.7 installed on Vista Business - I had to “Run as Administrator” the first time though.

performance issues seem to be fixed, memory still seems a bit high though.

I tried that, nothing happened. The error log reports:

what was it? because i still experience lockups with that Beta.

The beta looks good here, except for a few minor bugs mentioned in this discussion (which our users will rarely notice)

Patiently waiting for the final release so we can deploy!

Thanks!

2.5.7 was eating memory like s*!t and was using >50% processor time on my G4 Powerbook.

that was basically _it. made 2.5.7 unusable.

Hmmmm, well the only thing that looks good is the way the install completes. But the app never starts and since it never starts, it doesn’t work. I love the idea of spark and openfire and want to incorporate it into all of the servers we install, incluiding the comercial version but if the clients don’t work it is pretty useless.

i see. well, i’m on windows and this beta has freezed about 3 times today, so it’s worse than 2.5.7. though maybe it’s just not my day

Hi everyone & Spark Team

The double name has been fixed but didn’t added in changelog. Anyway, not a big factor :D…

Can I suggest here?? If not, I’m terribly sorry…

Can we add a search / find function in the history archive? Because if the history is loaded, finding the important messages is terrible.

Only a suggestion. I hope it can bring up in the next releases
