good question. I dont know. let me think on it. radius comes to mind as an easy way to accomplish this, but. I’m not sure spark/openfire support radius either.
with sso, the OS would handle the MFA and issue the kerberos ticket. this might would work as long as you disable other forms of auth into OF. This may only apply to domain joined devices…not sure if a cloud solutions like azure joined would work. my knowledge is almost zero when it comes to azure ad
