Spark users window not visible

Hi,

I am using Ubuntu 10.0.4 and have installed spark 2.5.8. There are two parts for my question

  1. I am unable to view users who are logged in the windows does not show up. This means I am unable to initiate new chats but others are able to see my status as online.

  2. my IT dept had sent a broadcast about 15 days back and the same broadcast keeps popping up every time I login. when I close this window closes but unable to see point 1.
