Stripping off MSN Plus Tags

The MSN transport should strip off the bb-code-like MSN Plus Tags to make MSN Plus / Live “display names” compatible with jabber. The main problem is that a lot of names are just unreadable and always renaming them to a static nick name is not the right solution, because nick changing is a common instant messaging feature.

The tags are AFAIK b, i, u, s, c=VALUE (with square brackets around it) plus the corresponding close-tags with a forward slash in front of the letter.

You mean your changes won’t stick after Spark logout? There is an option to change this in MSN transport.

No, im using Gajim. I don’t want to rename any of my MSN contacts - “always” means here each new one.

MSN Plus names are a common problem even under windows / live w/o that extension and I want to see jabber making it better.
