As JM-802 is still unscheduled and therefore not available any time soon (although I still hope that Derek and Gato will do it anytime soon!) I am tinking about possible workarounds.
So can a user subscribe to a shared group without being a member of it? If yes, will the members of the group see this user1 in their roster?
