Support for jabber user directory

it seems that jive software does not support jabber user directory, are there plans for this feature be incorporated into jive?

any? Neither GAIM nor Kopote list services… or a users directory… can’'t speak for windows clients…

Or, is there an additional configuration parameter somewhere which will enable this?

I’'m not familiar with the user directory feature, which is why I asked for a JEP number. If anyone knows the JEP number, we can provide some feedback on when/if it will be supported.

i not sure on the JEP#, but with jabber1.4, clients can search jabber id’'s registered at the server using their client software. do we have a similar facility in jive? what are my alternative?

From looking through the JEP’'s, it looks like it might be JEP-0055 – http://www.jabber.org/jeps/jep-0055.html

We don’‘t support this JEP at the moment. However, I think it would be a great canidate for someone to support as a plugin to Jive Messenger. We’'d be happy to help anyone get started that was interested in doing this work.

Early next week would be a great time to start work – the code in CVS is actually broken at the moment while we complete the last massive refactor before the 1.1 release (after this it will just be feature tweaks).
