Transfering files

Hi everyone, it’s me again… i’got another question… sorry i’m new… (i hope someday i could help anyone…)

When you configure at the openfire server to : "Use this server as proxy server over the port…xxxx’ , that means that every file transfer will be client-server(proxy)-client , i mean in this case you’ll be forcing to pass through the server that file transfer , and so avoiding a client to client transfer ?

It means exactly what it sais :

“The proxy enables clients to efficiently transfer files when they are not on the same local network.”

The server only acts as a proxy if the clients are not on the same network. If they are, they will comunicate directly
