URGENT, help Openfire disconnecting every minute

I installed the latest version of Ubuntu and reinstalled OpenFire 4.8.3, but it keeps disconnecting every minute or so, it doesn’t maintain the connection… I reinstalled it about 10 times without success. I also disabled the firewall.
Please help me

These are s2s connections. as a matter of fact looks exactly like the ones that network scanners all over the world are using.
search for this word in your logs : “expected” (without “”)
the lines above the “expected” will include the IPs of the network scanners(AKA port scanners).

Any solution for this?

If you already checked and it was indeed network scanners(and not servers that your server federate with). Basically its impossible to be network scanners free. I personally am trying to track down the ones i see in my server and doing a black list to drop all packets from the offending IPs/Subnets(and as of now my list is in the hundreds and i did noticed a reduction). You can accomplish that with various tools even with Iptables. that being said, its a long, arduous,(tedious), time consuming, everyday journey.

Apart from having these log messages, do you experience any functional problems? I do not think that these log messages point at a critical issue necessarily.

It is likely that some remote entity is setting up a server-to-server connection to your server, and then abruptly disconnects (without finishing or nicely terminating the connection).

Yes, of course, it keeps reconnecting every minute, it drops all the time, this happened after I changed the computer for a newer one with updated Ubuntu.

Do you mean that your client (Spark, or another client) keeps disconnecting? The errors that you included in your first post do not relate to this problem.

Can you please investigate the log files of Openfire and your client to find messages that relate to your problem.

the openfire session lasts exactly one minute and then asks for a login and password.

now it even changed the message, but it doesn’t stop reconnecting.

I installed it more than 10 times

this log is from ubuntu

Sadly, these messages still do not contain the reason for the disconnect/reconnect. The frequent server-to-server error messages may be a clue: do you expect users of your domain to be communicating with users on other domains (other servers)? If not, then you may have used a different XMPP domain name value when you re-installed Openfire. When upgrading/reinstalling Openfire, you must retain the same XMPP domain name value.

I think the answer would be here
If not, then you may have used a different XMPP domain name value when you re-installed Openfire

and how to fix this, how to know which one it was?

The easiest way to change the XMPP domain name is to reinstall the server. During the installation, you will be asked for this value (in the second screen, I think).

Yes, I’ve already done that, I’ve reinstalled it about ten times already, from the old server I only used MySQL

What log could I analyze for this disconnection?

The Spark log files may hold clues. They should be in the user-data directory of the computers that run Spark.

Have you been able to rule out that your domain accidentally switched to a different XMPP domain name configuration?
