Sorry if this is already here somwhere; If it is, I couldn’t find it.
I have a Spark user who can send messages via Spark/Openfire but cannot receive them. He can see me online and compose and send a message to me, and I get it, but if I reply, he doesn’t get anything. Same thing if I initiate the conversation - I can see him online and send a message, but he never sees it.
His account info looks like everyone else’s, and I’m at a loss…
We’re on Spark 2.5.8 and OpenFire 3.6.3.
Have the user quit spark, goto their user profile on the computer (e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\johnd) and backup the file spark.properties in the Spark folder, then delete the folder. Start spark and quit imediately, copy properties file into the new spark folder. Launch spark again.
Make sure they have write permissions to whatever directory Spark is running from. If it can’t write the log file, incoming messages don’t get displayed on the screen. I learned this one the hard way…
