Using AD "Department" as group

Hi there,

I´m trying to find a way to use the Department attribute as a way to build my groups in openfire+AD. Using the default config is not good enough as users usually belong to more than one security group, so the same user show twice in spark. Any clues?

Sorry to resurrect an old old topic, but this is exactly my question. We’re using MS AD for LDAP and I have the OU setup correctly, so in ‘Users’ I see every account that needs chat access. However, I keep the security groups in a different OU, and each user is a member of multiple groups, for printer access or shared folders etc.

The Department field is correctly populated in AD for each account, can I have Openfire build groups based on Department and not security groups?
