If I do not have the auto log on, can the higher ups read my chat history?

the server admin may log the chat history unless you use a p2p-encrypted connection (not supported by Spark).
If you write a local history file then there’‘s always the possibility that an admin may read it, but that’'s an issue of the operating system you are using.
