Vista and Openfire?

Can Openfire run on vista? I can’t get it to run…what can I do ?

Hey Anthony,

It should run fine on Vista. What problems are you seeing? Are there any error in the log files?

Regards,

– Gato

it just doesn’t post the port listening messages like “127.0.0.1:9090” and “127.0.0.1:9091”. I only has the first line saying “Openfire…” Could it be something with the ports or firewall? thanks

Right click the Openfire Server icon and select ‘Run as Administrator’. This is how I am able to run it on Vista Home Premium.

I am running into some other issues with SparkWeb, but Openfire and Red5 are running.

I to am having trouble getting OpenFire 3.6.3.0 running on my Microsoft Windows VISTA Business addition computer. I’ve tried reinstalling several times but continue to get the exception error pasted below. Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be my problem? Thanks!

Here’s the exception error:

Hi,

it may be nice if you wouldn’t revive old threads which likely have nothing to do with your problem. Remove _ from your server name and it should work.
