Want to display just groupname not its members

I have a requirement where in IM client I want to display just groupname not its members .User would select group to send a message and depending on criteria that message would be delivered to only few group-members(or only a single member).Is it possible .Looking for help.

Not out of the box. This would need Openfire customization. And probably the client’s too, because it’s not usual to chat with groups
