i have spark installed but i don’'t know what to put in for a server what do i do

Currently I can not reach jabber.org (website and IM), but jabber.org would be a good example for a jabber server.

You may use it with your own server (or with some exhisting server as posted above). If you wish to setup your own server yu may use Wildfire, available at http://www.jivesoftware.org/wildfire/

I got to the JiveSoftware website exactly because I was looking for a private server/client to have a controlled IM service in my research lab. Wildfire+Spark are just great for that too.
