Wildfire and spark on LAN and WAN

Hello

i observe that wildfire and spark combination works on local area network or within workgroup.

But when i tried same combination on WAN or on the internet then spark doesn’'t connect with wildfire.

Spark gives me a message Can’'t connect to server: invalid name or server not reachable

Does spark and wildfire work on WAN? if yes then is there some settings that i need to do on my server or client? Plzzzz help…

thanks

Hi,

do you have a public DNS name for your server?

Is your server behind a firewall or router which blocks these ports?

LG

Thanks LG for ur hints. I am actually using HOSTWAY server. i have posted this question to the support and waiting for reply.

will get back to u as soon as i have some information

thanks again

Hey LG…ur hint was very helpful…can u give me the list of ports need to be opened on my server?

thanks

You need at least port 5222 and port 5223 for secure conections.

Hi,

port 5222 is fine for 95% of the clients, some very old clients may still not support TLS need the SSL port 5223. It does anyhow no harm if you open also port 5223.

For server-2-server to work you need to open port 5269.

I would not open for the internet:

Port 7777 - file transfre proxy

Ports 9090 and 9091 - web admin console
