WildFire Clients Source? - VB6, Java, Flash

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could recommend a good client ( WITH SOURCE CODE) for wildfire. I would prefer VB6 or Java so I can customize my client to my environment (graphics, icons, logo etc…). Client does NOT need msn, icq, yahoo etc…

I have been searching and found very little…

Also, what Java editor do you prefer to use with WildFire?

Hi SharedMedia,

Jivesoftware does not provide any open source client but a java (Smack) and a flash (XIFF) api to write clients. For XIFFian http://xiffian.sourceforge.net/test/ there is yet no source code available. JWChat http://jwchat.sourceforge.net/ is a Web/JabberHTTPBind client, which is customizable.

I use Eclipse to build Wildfire (and other java projects).

LG

still in beta.

Uses Smack and is licensed under BSD terms.

I would suggest Coccinella ( http://hem.fyristorg.com/matben/ ). Although this Jabber client is not written in one of the languages you mention, it is the only open-source client that support the Asterisk-IM extension for Wildfire ( http://jivesoftware.org/asterisk-im/clients.jsp ). Support for AIX, Jingle (what Google Talk uses), SIP, Zoep, and TIPICs voice chat protocol are planned or in process.

so I can customize my client to my

environment (graphics, icons, logo etc…).

I know that the author of Coccinella is open to do that for you for some money. Besides that Coccinella has support for themes (this is improved in the development version).

Thanks,

I fell in love with Spark, it has everything a jabber could want… sad thing is, I want to find a “clone” where I can hard code the server info etc for my internal network. My project is ONLY going to be used internally so banners (logo’‘s) and prevention of server listings etc… will be a must. That’‘s why I’'m looking for an easy source code so I can “brand” my own client

Ill keep scoping…

SharedMedia,

We’‘re considering offering branding of Spark as an optional service. Is there a list of things you’'d like to customize and/or lock down in the client?

Regards,

Matt

I think this client can be used for branding too.

BTW, i think there are some problems with notifications again. I’‘m still getting some, but not everything. E.g. i’'ve got notify about SharedMedia post, but none about Matt.
