Sip Phone Plugins

ahh… thats is what I was saying earlier.

You must…and i mean must…

let asterisk know what all your local nets are.

in sip.conf

localnet=192.168.168.0/255.255.255.0 ;example for nic 1if your

subnet is 192.168.168.x

localnet=192.168.101.0/255.255.255.0 ;

example for nic 2 if your subnet is 192.168.168.x

externip=206.200.123.4 ; example for nic 3 if its is the nic that has

direct access to the internet… that address is your real world IP

address.

Make sure you have all your local networks identified in

sip.conf

In my case my phones are on 192.168.168.0 and

the computers are on 192.168.101.x

I had to tell asterisk what my LAN

addresses are and what my exteral ip is, otherwise it just does not work.

My calls would connect but I could hear nothing, and the party on the

other end could hear nothing.

adding your exteral ip address alone is not enough.

I also change my hostname from voip1.domain.com to that real world IP address.

On Mon,

I did all this stuff. Configured localnet and externip.

When I click in the test button, It shows “SIP Account Successfully Tested”. When I used Openfire server with embedded database a week ago, The SIP function worked perfectly. But now, I’m using Openfire 3.4.1 with Oracle Database and the dialpad in spark doesn’t show up anymore. It’s very strange for me.

if you log into your asterisk server and open a termial session.

type asterisk -r

then try to make a call as usual.

are there any errors displayed?

Client: Spark 2.5.8

OpenFire: 3.4.3

SIPaccount: gizmo

Issue: Dial tones not recognized

Question: Hello, all configured and passed-NOW-when checking voicemail or using the dial pad the tones are not recognized HEARD but not recognized when in call mode. I can dial between registered users however again, dial tones not effecting menu options on the other end of the call. ???

Do I need to open a port for this to work?

We use MXIE and a MX250 now at our company, but is there a way to connect a 3rd party client to at least use the IM features of the MX?? I would like to use spark or Pidgn for everything rather than having 3 im programs open…
